At Peace

I have only been to Mexico a few times in my life and I must say, I always seem to enjoy the beauty that it has to offer.  This old abandoned house inside a small village reminds me of my travels as a young boy to Durango.  This photo was taken in a village outside of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

This is near the place where my mother-in-law grew up.  The name of the town is San Bernardo.  This town seemed to put you at peace.  Even the old abandoned school – Elementary School Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez was almost scary but peaceful.  By using Google Maps, you can now see that the town has been growing and even the village area seems to have Street Views.  Give it a gander.

A Different Angle

I never noticed this side of El Capitan before. Every time someone drives to Yosemite they see the beauty of El Capitan from the south side but when I seen it from this angle, it was amazing, and then from this close. I was traveling with my daughter’s yearbook class and we stopped for lunch at this picnic area. There had been so much water due to the heavy rain. The river was high and moving super fast. I set my camera for the 3 brackets and then edited the photo using Photomatix.

Bridge in Dallas, TX

While I was in Texas recently, I was in Dallas and noticed this beautiful bridge.  It was a little tricky to get to since there wasn’t any place to park nearby and get to a good location to photograph it.  I had to stop at a gas station and hike up a road nearby to get this shot.  The plan originally for this bridge and two future bridges is to build two more similar bridges nearby and when you look at them from an angle it will look like one bridge.

If you have more details about this bridge and anything else in Dallas, TX please feel free to share it with us.
