I used to use that other popular search engine to do everything and ever since Microsoft released Bing, it has been great. It has such an artistic design that makes it almost Beautiful. Then Bing started to give away points so that you can earn points just by searching for stuff on the web. I figure, why not make points for doing stuff I am going to do when I am online. They let you take those points and use them for prizes, drawings and even donating to your favorite Organization.
How To Make Points
If you are like me, then you search for stuff all the time. Why not make points for every search you do? You can also make points by referring people to join the program. Once the person makes enough points then you and them get some extra points.
I like to search for Black and White photos and especially portraits. I am always looking for ideas when I am shooting photos. With Bing, it allows you to save pictures in certain categories and look at them later. Almost like Pinterest, but you do all the searching and saving and don’t have to depend on anyone else to give you ideas. For every search you do, you get 2 points. You can max out at about 600 points per day with the questions of the day and other ways to make quick points.
I have used my points to buy Amazon Gift Cards, Microsoft Gift Cards and even pay for my XBOX Live Membership for the past couple of years. If you haven’t tried the program I strongly recommend you give it a try. I only use Google for their maps. If you have any feedback about the program, please chime in.
I got a call from someone trying to get a chart to show up correctly. I am no expert in Google Sheets but I am sure to find my way around. I looked at what she was trying to do and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working.
We have the data that you see above. (All Data is just a bunch of sample numbers I put in.) I highlight the entire section and then clicked on the Chart Icon.
I go through the Google Sheets Chart Editor and customize the Chart to what I like and after I click Insert, I get the one below.
I have done everything and still can’t get the percentages to show up.
I even recreated the same thing in Microsoft Excel and had no issues. It showed up correctly and works fine.
Does anyone know what is wrong? Is there something wrong with Google? Just another reason to move away from Google.
I had a photo that I shot a while back and the post is the one here. I had taken the photo with my older Minolta Dimage 5 which was a great camera at the time but it was only 3 Megapixels and that might have been great but its not even close to what we need if I wanted to print out a really large print of the photo.
I stumbled across one of OnOne’s programs called Resize which is part of the OnOne Suite. I think the program does a great job but I am curious as what the limits truly are. I took this image from 960×1280 to 2250×3000. I didn’t notice too much change in the photo as it grew.
I will try some more tests and post the results on the website so you can witness the results for yourself. I think if anyone wants to take those old scans and print them out to a larger scale, this might be the best way. I do see some limitations of the program that wouldn’t work. I will share those in a future post as well.
When I heard about The Blood Moon, I knew that I would have to get a shot of it. I had seen some of the photos of the different phases and thought it would be cool to do that. I had no idea why they did them in the arch until I started take the photos.
I was one of those people that stayed up all night just to get this shot right. I think the phases started at about 1:00 AM and I had already been planning on it. Because of the way I setup my camera to capture the whole area around the moon, I was able to see how the moon made an arch that is resembled in the photo.
I think the next time I try this I will try to get a longer lens and see how it turns out.
A lot of people are afraid of change and I myself must admit that I have been afraid of upgrading to the latest Microsoft Windows 10 Software. I have a lot of devices and software that if they didn’t work on Windows 10, I knew that it was going to take a lot of time to get things to work. It takes time to ensure all of your hardware and especially software is compatible with Windows 10.
Epson Perfection 1660 PHOTO Scanner
I purchased my Epson Perfection 1660 a very long time ago. I must say that after all of these years it still does a good job. It is slow when trying to scan larger photos but quality takes time.
After I upgraded to Windows 10, it was difficult to find a driver for my scanner that is compatible with Windows 10. It seems that there is always some company out there trying to get rich by putting Spyware or selling something that isn’t real.
I came across one program that utilizes drivers and makes the scanner work. The problem is that the program is about $90 for the Professional Version. I wasn’t ready to pay for something that I already owned, so I kept researching.
I went straight to the Epson website and downloaded an older Windows 7 32-bit version of the TWAIN 5 Driver v5.71A. The driver works just like the original when I purchased it. It turns out that Windows 10 is capable enough to run the older software and still function.
If you have old equipment or software and are afraid of upgrading to Windows 10, try it out. If you would like, I can assist with the test and try to ensure that you can make it work.

I had been looking at purchasing a new PC after my old PC finally died. I was comparing stores and units to see which one would fit me best. After all, I needed a case that had enough room for all of the hard drives that I was going to put into it. I was using a spreadsheet to compare specs and prices and rebates to see which one was going to fit my budget.
I went to one of the Big Warehouse Stores (#Costco) online and placed my order. The PC was supposed to be delivered to the house on New Years Eve. I was planning on being out of town so I tried to call #FedEx to have them delay my package until I would be home. FedEx charged me $5.00 just so that I can put a hold on the package. It turned out that we didn’t leave town after all for New Years. I wasn’t expecting my package but I was expecting some other stuff. Then I got an alert from FedEx that my package had been delivered. I had to call someone because we were away from the house and weren’t planning on being back for a few hours.
Dead On Arrival
When I opened up the new PC, I must admit that it looked really nice. Too shiny for my style though. I plugged in the PC and turned it on and nothing would happen. I waited until the next day and tried again and nothing. I called Dell and they had me do some troubleshooting. We couldn’t get it to boot. Dell told me that they would send me another one to replace it. I was fine with that.
A week later I hadn’t seen anything from FedEx and was wondering what was happening. I had gotten an email from Dell stating the specs for the computer they were going to send me for replacement, but nothing from FedEx. I decided to call Costco’s Tech Concierge Service to see what was the status. They called Dell and I guess because the parts to build a new one weren’t in stock they decided to cancel the exchange. I then called Dell to see what they could tell me. They told me that because I didn’t respond to an email from them that they cancelled the exchanged. They asked if I was okay with the specs for the new PC and I said yes. So they were going to proceed with the exchange again.
A week later I had not seen or heard from anyone. I sent an email stating to cancel the exchange and that I would be returning the computer I bought to Costco. Then they respond stating that the system had already been shipped.
The moral of this story is to be patient and wait it out I guess. Either that or don’t ever buy from Costco again. Never trust FedEx is one that I will take to the books.
